Meth-Head Magoon charged with DUI death when mowing down 8-year-old skateboarder

PAYSON, UTAH – Payson Police reports that a motorist was drugging it up on her cruise down West 680 South when making an overly wide turn at an intersection and smashed into a boy on a skateboard, killing him in the process. The fatal crash took place on March 20, 2016, at 4:35. The motorist was charged with driving under the influence, improper turn, and causing the death of another while operating a motor vehicle which is a second-degree felony.

Sprecher was cited numerous times for not displaying a driver’s permit to police officers.

UPDATE: Maryland Transportation Authority Police reports that charges are pending in this crash that took the life of Randy Drake Thrower, indicating that police have determined he was not driving the sedan that slammed into the back of a truck on the Bay Bridge on April 2, 2016.  Those adults who accept a ride with an impaired driver simply buy a ticket to their own funeral.  This is yet another case of a group of adults taking their party on the road without any regard for the lives of others or, for that matter, for their own lives.  This crash was NOT an accident but a predictable outcome of choices made by adults.  First Sgt. Jonathan Green of the Maryland Transportation Police reports that the names of those persons in the sedan will not be released until they have all been interviewed, as they are considered witnesses.  The two occupants of the sedan who were taken by ambulance to Anne Arundel Medical Center were released after treatment.  OBITUARY

Stevensville, Md. –  Maryland Transportation Authority Police reports that a twenty-one-year-old Queenstown, Md., man was killed when a sedan in which he was either the driver or a passenger crashed into the rear a truck on the eastbound span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, just after the magic 2:00 am killing hour of bar closings in the Annapolis area.  Annapolis is located on the Western Shore of the Bay while Randy Drake Thrower, 21, is from the Eastern Shore, the direction in which the fatal crash occurred.

A police spokesman said that drugs, alcohol ,and speed were all factors in the crash, which fortunately did not injure the driver of the truck — only the party crowd in the sedan.

Thrower, who lived at 200 Somerset Court in Queenstown, Md., was cited by Maryland State Police Trooper D. A. Pope on Nov. 3, 2015, at 4:54 pm on Rt. 50 while westbound at Castle Marina and ticketed for driving at 73 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. Thrower entered a guilty plea in District Court for Queen Anne’s County on Jan. 5, 2016 and was fined $64.50.

MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee firefighter accused of driving drunk and causing a deadly crash has been released from jail.

We’re told the man had been tailgating at Miller Park hours before the crash in West Allis that killed two people.

The 31-year-old was arrested two days ago, and released Friday. He has not yet been charged in the crash.

This wouldn’t be the first time this firefighter has faced alcohol-related charges, but they are the most serious.  In a criminal complaint from 2014, the man allegedly behind the wheel Monday night was under the influence when he was shooting a gun at a campground in northern Wisconsin two years ago.

It happened in Langlade County. He tells the investigating officer in the complaint that he consumed a six pack and had some Jim Beam and that he shot his pistol because” It makes me feel better.”   …MORE

Richard Wayne Wilson sentenced to 12 years in DUI wrong way death

From KRCR

CHICO, CALIF. – A 65-year-old Chico resident, Richard Wayne Wilson, was sentenced to 12 years and eight months in state prison after pleading guilty to all counts and allegations on the third day of his jury trial on January 29, Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey said.

On January 12, 2015, Wilson had been driving westbound in the eastbound lanes on Skyway near Paradise resulting in a head-on collision, which killed a Chico woman and severely injured a Paradise man.

Ramsey said Wilson had been driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the offense with a blood alcohol level of approximately 0.17 percent.

The surviving Paradise man who was injured addressed the court stating the events which occurred that day were “totally devastating” and he does not want to see Wilson back out on the streets again.

The daughter of the Chico woman who died in the collision addressed the court on behalf of their family.

She stated, “My family should have had another good 30 years of love, life, and guidance with her, which we will never get back. I think about how many chapters of my life that I still have to live, that my mom will not be a part of. I won’t have my mother on the day I get married. My mom won’t be there for the day I have my first child. The list of personal events she will not be there for is too many to name.”  ….MORE

In handing down the upper term sentence, Judge Robert A. Glusman stated if he could sentence Wilson to more time, he would have.

Fatal Crash a Crowning Glory to Richard Wayne Wilson’s DUI career and Tribute to Liberal Judges and California Lawmakers

From ChicoER

PARADISE, CALIF. –  The driver in Monday’s deadly head-on, wrong-way collision on Skyway that killed a Chico woman and injured a Paradise man was driving on a suspended license due to prior driving under the influence convictions.

Jonna Therese Smith, 51, of Chico, was identified Tuesday morning as the woman who died in the 2:20 p.m. accident on the Skyway.

The California Highway Patrol said Richard Wayne Wilson, 64, of Chico, is facing felony DUI and manslaughter charges in addition to a potential felony charge of driving in the wrong direction on a divided highway causing death or injury.

According to court records, Wilson has been cited for driving on a suspended license with DUI priors three times and was cited a fourth time for driving on a suspended license with a failure to appear.

Wilson was arrested for misdemeanor DUI in 1991 and 1992, while in 1994 he was arrested on two felony DUI charges.

He was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison on the felony DUI charges.

In 2011, he was twice arrested for driving on a suspended license.

From the preliminary investigation, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Brian Donnelly said the driver of a green Dodge Neon, Wilson, was driving westbound on eastbound Skyway, ultimately colliding with a silver Toyota Prius, driven by Paradise resident, Steve Julian Valencia, 58.

Valencia suffered major internal injuries, according to CHP, and was transported to Enloe Medical Center.

CHP said that Smith died at the scene while Wilson suffered a heel fracture and a dislocated hip and is at Enloe. ....MORE
